BARKS (Byram Animal Rescue Kindness Squad, Inc.) was founded in 1973 as a rescue organization in Sussex County, NJ. BARKS rescues sick, stray, abandoned, and abused animals. We also provide veterinary care, foster care, and placement for these animals. BARKS is a “stray only” organization. When space permits, animals will be rescued from local pound/holding facilities. BARKS has a no-kill policy. We provide a home for our animals until they are placed ¯ however long it takes. BARKS has no paid employees – we pay for services only. All donated funds are used exclusively for the care and maintenance of the animals.
