The goal of the Outdoor Education Project is to increase student engagement in education through nature, by creating an outdoor learning environment to include an outdoor classroom, edible garden, wildlife habitat, music center, walking/fitness path and environmentally sensitive natural public playground. The premise is based on research that indicates a child’s social, psychological, academic and physical health is positively impacted from daily contact with nature.
